When I first found out that Doug's birthday was just 10 days after mine, I said, "Nice! We will have a fiesta for 10 days!" Doug said it well today, "This is the 2nd year in a row that our fiesta has been lame." Yes, we've had a 2011 fiesta with the ENTIRE family sick (almost the entire 10 days!). While Sydney is still sick, Ethan was showing signs of being 100% when we started into a new sickness--runny diapers and some serious bum rash. I didn't think bums could be so red. He was been miserable for 3 days now. His sleep has been suffering because he screams as soon as he fills his diaper. The main contributing factor to this problem--I can't smell him to know to change his diaper! Poor kid.
He woke up from a nap with his face showing he'd slept really hard. His head was sweaty and his face had a whole bunch of lines on it.
Then, there came meal times where he didn't want to sit on his chair directly. I put a burp cloth on his seat, but it wasn't enough.
Last night he had fussed so hard with his diaper changes (one about every hour) that he fell asleep in my arms while I calmed him down from his last change of the day. He even stayed asleep while I got him dressed and put on his brace...that has happened maybe once--ever.
I have decided that I hate having sick kids. Hate. It is extremely stressful to watch someone suffer...let alone not be able to explain what is happening and why.

oh heather! i am so sorry! and happy birthday to doug!!! it is so miserable having sick babies and having them watch you trying to make them feel better and not understanding why you are hurting them! i wish so bad i could run over and help you! hang in there....spring is almost here! love you tons! and happy birthday again to doug...such a fun guy you are!
Ugh! Are you serious? Sick kids is awful and we know a lot about that right now. I have been a Lysol maniac this last week, trying to prevent the 5 day throw up and diarrhea flu from spreading... And I'm still going at it to make sure that nasty bug is gone! And guess where they got it? Nursery. That will be your least favorite place. Maybe you will boycott it like I basically have. It's like a daycare where they never sanitize the toys. And when no one wants to miss church, so they bring their kids that were throwing up a day or two before, have a runny nose, or the worst... Their kids get sick Sunday night so they were already contagious and there was no way to know... Nursery sucks! Honestly, they always have signs on the door, saying not to bring your kids in if they are sick... But
No one has the guts to tell parents they cannot bring that kid in cause of their green, snotty nose (including me). Good luck with the babies!!! Call me and we can chat it up about how fun cleaning up diarrhea is!!!
So sorry you guys have been sick, especially the kids. I HATE it when my kiddo's are sick too. But it does get easier as they get older...I promise! Also the BEST thing around for the burning diaper rash is called Triple Paste. I have tried so many others and nothing comes close to this (Including budreax's butt paste) It is amazing and the results are fast and it stays on their behind really really good! I will say it is pricey but you can get a big one from amazon for a decent price.
Hope you all feel better soon. I realized this morning that I had forgotten to call Doug yesterday, the kids and I even talked about it driving home from church. Texted him today though, hope he forgives me=)
