We have been looking forward to Doug's first holiday and it came on a weekend when family was in town with lots of fun plans. We went up American Fork canyon to Mutual Dell (a LDS church-owned campground) and arrived just before the downpour of rain and thunder rolled in. We had about an hour or so of play time. Doug's niece, Amanda showed Ethan and Sydney how to play football with a Toy Story football. They were in love immediately.
Ethan has especially taken to Woody and Buzz and requests the movie daily. If I am feeling "weak" in any way, we are watching a movie right after breakfast. He requests movies all day long. I am working on a plan to make a 'schedule' of activities during the day so he doesn't remember Toy Story or Dumbo are even around.
When we got rained out, we went to a park in Alpine near Doug's sister, Tonya's home. We had a great time playing with cousins. Aunt Michelle is always so great to oblige the requests for 'pushing' on the swing or any monotonous park activity. Ethan and Sydney love her.
Some kids (big and little) even got in the water and were quickly laying on the pavement to warm up. It was a fantastic time.
