After Doug came home from work today, we made some 'flowers' and planned a visit to see Grandpa Marchant's grave.
Doug had envisioned a flower arrangement of grandpa's 'favorite things'. We made flowers out of orange slices (candy) with licorice in the center. Doug was grinning SO big when he had the idea to add popcorn kernals to help weigh down the vase. It was the perfect arrangement.
E&S loved crawling around in the grass. We just had to work extra hard to keep them off of the head stones.
Happy Birthday Grandpa Marchant. We miss you!

That is so cool you did this. What a great idea!
I was thinking about Dad that day as well. I cleaned out my closet and came across a skirt he bought for me that I just can't let go of...brought tears to my eyes.
Oh and by the way I am impressed you kept the kids off of headstones, we cleaned a cemetery for a service project this weekend and after about a half hour I gave up and let the boys climb. I figured it was a trade off, a little work for a climb that day. If not I was ready to call it quits.
Very fun idea for a bouquet. I'm sure he was looking down with a huge smile on his face.
That is just so neat! I'm sure he loved that and such a cute way to help your kids get to know him. :) Love you guys!
I love that!
Hey Heather. I check your blog from time to time and its so fun to see you and the kids. Hey, my parents live in Hawaii and they are in the temple presidency there. Maybe you guys can run into each other there! If you need any help or advice for hawaii, just let me know and i can get you my mom's e-mail. They live practically across the street from BYU-H.
