Matt left tonight. We are back to a quiet(er) house and with the realization that we leave this island in just 1 week! We had a lot of fun on Matt's last day here. We took a little walk around the temple grounds. It was a beautiful afternoon.
Doug borrowed Eric's kayak again (his boss--he has been so kind to share with us many times) and he and Matt took a spin on the water. I snatched a photo of them from our deck while they were out. We have LOVED living so close to the water.
We took a brief dip in Alligator pond. It is just windy enough that once you're wet, you're cold. Sydney kept walking back up toward the stairs to our house.
We hunted for shells for Matt to take back to my mom. We were a little disappointed to come up with a small stash, but we've realized that Hawaii is not the place of beautiful shells.
We took a few swings on the rope swing on the beach next to our house. The kids were a little nervous, but had a great time with Doug pushing them up in the air.
They each took turns staying warm on the stump of the tree they were swinging from.
I chickened out when it came time for me to climb up. The tree was pretty slippery looking to climb and it's pretty high off the ground. I've become more wary of doing risky things since becoming a mom. I don't have time to be injured or...paralyzed.
