Saturday ended up being the last day of the Pipeline competition and completing the Triple Crown of surfing. We sat in awe, again, at the skills of these crazy people. The beach was pretty packed with spectators (at least packed for Hawaii) and we took turns getting close to watch the action.
The sponsors were handing out gear left and right. We walked away with reusable bags, hats, coolers, wallets, stickers, etc.
We watched Kelly Slater lose in the semi-finals by a small margin in a fantastic battle. It left the Aussies to go head-to-head in the final. Amazing.
