This is the closest I will come to Japan's Byodo-in. This replica is close to our house and we decided to check it out...the large Budda and all. We rang the massive bell and fed the black swans and the large koi fish. I got a little nervous when this swan first approached and threw the kids in the stroller for protection.
It looked mean, but proved to be pretty mild.
These koi fish loved the white bread we brought them. The swan started wrestling them for it and won most of the time.
Can't beat the setting, and I couldn't beat the mosquitos--yikes!
