Day 14

Here are a few of our favorite shots of the evening. They were so cute tonight interacting with each other. They had another good day today. Ethan is up 20 grams to 1700 grams or 3 lb 12 oz. Sydney stayed the same at 1620 grams and is 3 lb 9 oz. The big news of the day is that the doctor approved us moving to two non-nutritive feedings per day.

Tonight's feeding (10 pm) was pretty hilarious. The nurse said we should try to feed both babies at once--I was a little overwhelmed. Apparently Ethan could tell because he was totally not interested. After 5-10 minutes of trying, we decided to just let him chill on the twin boppie while Sydney joined him on the other side. We saw Ethan's competitive side (or just wanting to do whatever Sydney does) because he watched her closely and then 'went to town' along with her. We were laughing really hard. They are so fun to watch. We rejoice in all their successes--big or small.

Here are a few fun photos of them interacting with each other. They were so fun tonight. Doug and I walked out of the hospital and he turned to me and said, "that was a great visit".

The only shot I have of them getting dressed and their cute little clothes.

Here is a cute shot of Sydney 'punching' her brother. Serves him right for sprawling out all over her all the time. The nurses even mention it.

They are so sweet to watch--we could watch them all night.

This was sweet--Sydney about to kiss Ethan on the head. Her lips were 'pursed' and ready.

Sydney pulled her feeding tube out of her nose while Doug was putting on her clothes after her feeding. They are such trouble-makers.

Looking at the pictures today I think Ethan is totally starting to look like Doug as a baby, especially the fourth pic down. They are so cute! I feel like an addict, the first thing I do when I turn on the computer is look for an update so I can see more pics of my adorable niece and nephew=)

I keep wondering how they get any sleep when they are always punching each other, sticking fingers in ears and feet in diapers! When are they going to let you actually feed them?

We agree. Ethan does look like Doug. It's amazing how their coloring is even looking different--her a little darker skinned we think. They may let me try feeding them for real (nutritive feed) in the next few days depending on how well they do.

hi im elder beckstrand's friend... since he told us bout these babies i've seen this blog more times in a day than my facbebook which very much to say jajaja anyways i feel so happy to see how they are progressing, i just want you to know my family is praying for Ethan and Sydney, my parents are doctors... my dad is a neonatologist (is that the word?) and he wasn't that optimistic bout the 32 weeks babies and your brother just said "Everything is going to be ok, they've all recieved priesthood blessings" That was such a witness to me... I'm so glad to know they are better and better every day, congratulations for the Marchant (Beckstrand) twins, my best wishes and prayers,
